History

The Woods Inn consists of two buildings –
the older building we call The Manor and the
newer building where you will be staying is
called The Lodge. The Manor was born in
about 1932 as a hunting lodge. It was
originally built in the area where Lake Dillon
now resides and was built with no electricity
or running water. The structure was moved
to the present location, near the historical
district, sometime in the late 1940s and became the home of the Swanson family (local saw mill owner). Water and electric were hooked up and the building began to grow. We are not sure exactly when the building grew – but subsequent owners obviously built on the main structure as needed.

The Lodge was built in 1994/1995 by the
past owner. It is designed as four, two-
bedroom condos. This creates 12 rooms
because each room can be locked off from
the others and each room has a private
bath. Because of the diversity of this design,
we can usually accommodate everyone’s
needs.

Today The Manor is a conglomeration for
our needs – we live here, serve breakfast for
guests, house our staff and has a fireplace
for all to enjoy.
